Emiliano Papa (pictured) and Javier Pastore, who until recently were bitter rivals playing for Vélez Sársfield and Club Atlético Huracán, the dominating forces in the Argentine Primera A, have signed for Serie A side Palermo, where they will be among the highest rated midfielders.
With a tally of 74.07 points at the moment, Papa will take the number 2 spot in the FTBL ranking of Palermo midfielders, while Pastore, who has 70.83 points, will rank third. The top midfielder at the Sicilian club remains Giulio Migliaccio with 75.02 points.
Papa and Pastore were in the FTBL Top 23 of Argentine players before their departure for Palermo: Papa was 3rd in the ranking of midfielders, while Pastore was 5th. To join the equivalent Top 23 of the Serie A, the two will have to substantially boost their ratings, as the lower threshold in the Italian league is at 87.73 points.
