As we predicted, Valencia’s prolific striker David Villa is now the top striker in the world on the FTBL ranking with a score of 197.74 points following Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo’s loss of a whopping 28 rating points in yesterday’s Champions League game against FC Zürich.
In the coming La Liga game against Mallorca, Villa will be guaranteed a bonus of 1.02 rating points in our system, compensation for the loss in the Europa League game against Slavia Prague in which he was shown a red card.
Villa, therefore, stands a real chance of becoming the world's top player (irrespective of position) in the FTBL ranking in the coming days if he can produce strong performances: the gap with the current # 1, Chelsea’s Frank Lampard (209.35 points), is just approximately 12 rating points.
