While Manchester United were taking care of Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, their main rival in the Premier League Liverpool were busy erasing the memory of last week’s disastrous title-wise draw against Arsenal. The Reds brushed aside Hull City 3:1, with Dutch international Dirk Kuyt picking 22.82 rating points to vault into the lead in the rating of Netherlands players.
Kuyt’s double allowed him to boost his rating to 168.43 points, overtaking Real Madrid’s Klaas Jan Hunterlaar (168.43 points).
Kuyt could even break into the world Top 23 in the nearest game if he can beat his plank of 3.45 rating points.
Chelsea earned a hard-fought 1:0 victory away at West Ham. Salomon Kalou scored the only goal in the match at the 55th minute. But the Ivory Coast international almost spoiled the party when he conceded a penalty at the 70th minute. Petr Cech saved Mark Noble’s attempt, earning 8.72 rating points to boost his rating to 11.28 points.
