Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger (pictured right) makes it clear he counts on Russian international Andrei Arshavin to be his side’s big boost in Saturday’s English Premier League match at Portsmouth. Arshavin (Pictured left) will be looking to build on his triumphant recent entry into the Premier League’s FTBL Top 23.

“I think Arshavin will be of great help to us in the league,” said Wenger. “He has proved that his class is up to what we expected. Maybe we still have a chance to compete for one of the three top spots.”

The Russian international currently has 166.19 points, and he has a plank of 15.00 rating points to beat in the coming game. Judging from his recent performance against Liverpool, Arshavin certainly has all the tolls. What could come up short here is motivation.

Captain Cesc Fabregas will have a more completed task; he needs to pick up 20 rating points. Fabregas earned the bonus (19.95 rating points) without scoring a single goal in the Champions League 3:0 win over Villarreal.

What is even more ingintriging is that Arsenal defender William Gallas, despite having been off the pitch for the whole of April due to an injury, remains in the FTBL World Top 23: he has 120.03 points over all. He is followed by Man United’s John O’Shea, the man who scored the only goal conceded by the Gunners in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final at Old Trafford. The Ireland international now has 11.16 points over all, and his plank in the game against Middlesbrough is 11 rating points.
