Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazilian forward Luiz Adriano (pictured left) not only returned among the best forwards of the Ukrainian league after his side emerged on top of Dynamo Kyiv in the battle to advance into the UEFA Cup final, but also grabbed the first spot in our Top 23 in the process.
The Brazilian, despite a modest showing in the second leg match in Donetsk, still earned 8.23 rating points to take the lead in our FTBL Top 23 rating of forwards in the Ukrainian league with 65.32 points over all. He has now overtaken former rating leaders Ismael Bangoura and Maris Verpakovskis, both of Dynamo Kyiv.
Bangoura (59.22 points), who just two days ago topped the rating, lost 10.77 rating points and has exited the Top 23, which speaks volume about the degree of competition among forwards in the Ukrainian league. Verpakovskis lost just 3.43 rating points and remains in second position.
