Fulham’s Clint Dempsey (pictured in a white jersey), who put the last nail in Spain’s coffin as they crashed in the Confed Cup against the U.S., has now grabbed the lead in the FTBL Top 23 of North American midfielders with 87.57 points over all.
Dempsey’s goal with 15 minutes left in the game made sure Spain could never recover from their first loss in competitive football since they bowed to Romania in November 2006 and earned him 31,13 rating points.
Number-two ranked Michael Bradley of Borussia Monchengladbach now substantially trails Dempsey with 64.03 points over all in our rating.
