A right halfback who regularly takes part in attacks and scores many goals. Despite his massive build and height – he is 181 centimeters tall – Schweinsteiger is a good dribbler and has good speed. He was born in Oberaudorf in the Bavarian Alps, where his parents own a small skiing equipment leasing firm. In his youth, Schweinsteiger became good at downhill skiing, and he even won several youth contests, but his love of football proved stronger. Besides, he didn't like carrying heavy skiing equipment.
