The week’s Top 23 ranking was marked by the meteoric rise of Bosnian Edin Dzeko and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo. Dzeko is now the best player in the world with a rating of 219.73 points. Ronaldo tops the rating of midfielders with 214.55 points.
English international Frank Lampard was the clear winner in recent weeks when he added a full 27.17 points to his overall rating. He even grabbed the lead for a day but was eventually forced out of the spot by Ronaldo.
Man united defender Patrice Evra (124.16 points) and Barcelona’s Carles Puyol (122.98) have broken into the world top ranking of defenders. Evra added 17.81 rating points after Man United’s win over Porto in the Champions League quarter-final, while Puyol earned 10.01 rating points thanks to his side’s victory over Bayern Munich. Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos remains the leader in the rating of world best defenders with 129.28 points.
