Bundesliga leaders Wolfsburg’s flop at relegation-threatened Energie Cottbus 0:2 cost their leader Edin Dzeko dearly. The Bosnian forward, who had led the FTBL World Top 23 rating for two weeks, failed to score in the game, which led to a slump of more than 25 rating points. Dzeko has now exited the list of best world players.
Dzeko wasted two wonderful opportunities when he first fired wide then saw his attempt saved by Energie goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel. The loss has now seen Wolfsburg’s lead in the standings cut to just two points.
Dzeko now has 193.51 points and has also exited the list of best world forwards. The Bosnian’s slump could in part be explained by his rivals’ brilliant performances: Wayne Rooney for Man United and Raul for Real Madrid. The two stars are now back into the FTBL World Top 23. Rooney currently has 210.50 points, while Raul has 199.38 points.
