Wolfsburg’s Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko (pictured left), who is churning out goals this season, grabbed a hat-trick to help his side to a 4:0 win over Hoffenheim on Saturday and take further his rivalry with the Liverpool and Barcelona stars of the FTBL Top 23.
The hat-trick earned Dzeko a whopping 42.70 rating points to take his tally to 205.53 points over all. The Bosnian has racked in 125.30 rating points in his most recent appearances and vaulted to third position in our FTBL Top 23 rating of best forwards in the world.
His first came when he broke clear after a Zvjezdan Misimovic pass from deep inside the midfield. Dzeko grabbed his second and third after good efforts by Brazilian Grafite, who himself concluded Hoffenheim’s rout with a fourth from the penalty spot.
With 198.82 points and 192.39 points, respectively, Liverpool’s Fernando Torres (4th place) and Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o (5th place) still have the Bosnian in their field of view, which, at the very least, promises an exciting end of season.
