Chelsea will host Arsenal in Premier League action next Sunday in what could be an attempt at consolation for manager Guus Hiddink’s side after their bitter elimination from the Champions League by a less-than-impressive Barcelona. Ghanaian Michael Essien (pictured left), who almost made the game with his early goal and could have saved it had his leg caught that lose ball in the area, might use the opportunity to soothe the chagrin.
Essien will have to earn just 4 rating points in order to collect a bonus and maybe reclaim the first spot in our FTBL rating of Ghanaian players. He currently has 77.75 points over all and is second only to Inter Milan’s Sulley Muntari.
France international Nicolas Anelka, who also had more than one chance to ensure Chelsea’s win against Barcelona, will also need just 4 rating points to break into the Top 23 of the English Premier League. He currently has just 134.28 points over all. Portugal right-back Bosingwa will need just 3.60 rating points to take the lead in our rating of Portuguese defenders. He currently has 99.67 points, right behind Real Madrid’s Pepe.
