CSKA Moscow defender Vassili Berezoutski (pictured) headed home the winning goal for his side in their clash against rivals Dynamo Moscow in Russian Premier League action yesterday (2:1), earning himself 13 rating points in the process. Berezoutski is now the leader of our FTBL rating of defenders in the Russian league.
Berezoutski now has 68.45 points over all and has overtaken teammate Sergei Ignashevich at the top. It is worth noting that Berezoutski has now scored his second goal in a row in as many appearances: in the previous case, he leveled the score against Krylya Sovetov. CSKA won then 3:1. This time, his effort brought victory.
In St. Petersburg, second-placed Zenith confidently won 2:0 against Krylya Sovetov with goals from Konstantin Zhyryanov and Pavel Pogrebnyak. The later picked up 8.76 rating points in the process and took the lead in our FTBL rating of best forwards in the Russian league, with 82.95 points over all.
Zyryanov boosted his rating by 6.45 points after the game but remained out of our FTBL list of 23 best players of the Russian league. Zyryanov has just 86.60 points, while the leader of our Top 23, CSKA’s Milos Krasic, has 92.50 points over all.
