Despite helping the Red Devils to another title triumph this weekend in the English Premier league—their third in a row—the leader of our FTBL World Top 23 for midfielders, Cristiano Ronaldo, was unable to produce one of his trademark pulverizing performances in the game against Arsenal (0:0).
The unproductive performance cost the Manchester United star 21.18 rating points, and he now has just 228.70 points over all. The gap has now narrowed substantially between him and his most immediate rivals, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi (193.39 points) and Xavi Hernandes (179.45).
Darren Fletcher, who earned 0.11 rating points, and Ryan Giggs, 3.12 rating points, were the only Man United players able to boost their rating in the game against the Gunners. Each of them leads comfortably in our ratings of Scottish and Wales midfielders, respectively.
