Atletico Madrid's Uruguayan forward Diego Forlan (pictured in front), who grabbed the lead in the FTBL World Top 23 last week, scored his side’s only goal in their victory over Valencia this weekend to extend his lead in the rating. He added 37.30 rating points in the process to take his overall number to 246.46 points.
Forlan will have a plank of just 9 rating points to beat in the next game, while one of his nearest rivals, Wolfsburg’s Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko, who has 22.84 points over all, will have to earn just a single point. Former World Top 23 leader Cristiano Ronaldo, with 227.16 points over all, will have a plank of 15.45 rating points to beat in his next game.
Atletico Madrid will be fighting for a spot in next year’s Champions League campaign when they meet Athletic Bilbao in their last game of this year’s campaign.
