Udinese midfielder Mauricio Isla (pictured left) and forward Alexis Sanchez are in a fierce fight for the top spot in the FTBL Top 23 for Chilean players. In one of the many turns and twists in this dogfight, Isla grabbed the lead from Sanchez last week.
Just a month ago, the battle for the top spot went between AC Roma midfielder David Pizarro and Monterrey (Chili) forward Humberto Suazo, but the two have seen their ratings drop dramatically and are now playing second fiddle to their two countrymen at Roma.
Twenty-year-old Sanchez led the fight for a long time, but Isla showed more stability and was able to grab the lead last week.
Isla also tops the list of Chilean midfielders, with 89.58 points over all, ahead of Pizarro by more than 30 rating points! Sanchez, naturally, also leads in the FTBL rating of Chilean forwards with 81.95 points over all.
