Werder Bremen’s young midfielder Mesut Ozil (pictured in front), whose deflected shot earned his side a narrow win over Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup final on Saturday, has earned a spot in the FTBL Top 23 rating of best midfielders in the Bundesliga.

The somewhat tepid goal helped Bremen secure a spot in the newly created Europa League for next season, and the 20-year-old Ozil earned 15.31 rating points to boost his overall rating to 98.80 points.

Ozil now ranks 8th in the FTBL rating of midfielders in the Bundesliga and 6th in that of German midfielders. He is second only to Barcelona star Lionel Messi (210.39 points) in the FTBL rating of the world’s top U21 midfielders.
