Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper Petr Cech, who is finishing the season among the three best goalkeepers in the world, is also the best rated Czech football player at the moment with 120 points over all.
Only Krylya Sovetov giant forward Jan Koller has shown some teeth in the fight against Cech among Czech players, even snatching the top spot at one point, albeit for a short period of time. In the end, Cech has re-claimed his top spot and a place in the World Top 23.
It is worth nothing that Czech forwards, surprisingly, have lower ratings than their fellow countrymen playing in other positions: the best rated Czech forward, FC Sochaux-Montbeliard’s Vaclav Sverkos, has just over 80 points. Juventus’s Pavel Nedved and Atletico Madrid’s Tomas Ujfalusi, the best midfielder and defender, have 108.60 and 108.32 points over all, respectively.
