Club Atlético Huracán’s young midfielder Javier Pastores (pictured) has grabbed the top spot in the FTBL rating of midfielders for the Argentinean Primera Liga in competition with such established names as Boca Juniors’s Juan Roman Riquelme and Estudiantes de La Plata’s Juan Sebastian Veron.

The 19-year-old midfielder is proving to be the revelation of this year’s championship through his stable and substantive performances: Pastores has earned 77.68 rating points in his last 5 appearances to boost his overall rating to 88.04 points. Besides the top spot in the rating of midfielders in the Primera Liga, Pastores also ranks 5th in the FTBL rating of Argentine midfielders, where he competes with such stars as Real Madrid’s Fernando Gago (77.68 points, 8th place).

Riquelme is breathing down the neck of the young Huracan midfielder with a rating of 87.72 points. The Boca Juniors hero will have a plank of just 3 rating points to beat in the next game, which will make it even harder for Pastores to retain his top spot, since he has a rather high plank of 10 rating points to beat.

Meanwhile, Estudiantes’s star Juan Veron, with a rating of 72.08 points, is far from the form of his better days and lags behind in the rating.
