Spartak Moscow goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa, who has lost his place in the first team at the Moscow club, will have a perfect opportunity to argue for a return when Croatia host Ukraine in a World Cup 2010 qualifier tomorrow.
Despite having been benched at Spartak since April 11, Pletikosa, with an overall rating of 55 points, remains the best rated Croatian goalkeeper and the second-best rated goalkeeper in the Russian Premier League.
A strong performance could earn him the top spot in the FTBL rating of goalkeepers in the Russian league, which will be quite odd considering his situation at Spartak. Pletikosa will need to earn around 4 rating points to boost his overall rating. CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev, who tops the rating of goalkeepers in the Russian league, has 60 points.
