The top spot in the FTBL World Top 23 of the world’s best defenders will probably go from Liverpool’s Jamie Carragher to Chelsea’s Ashley Cole after the World Cup 2010 qualifier between England and Kazakhstan; Carragher, with an overall rating of 132.74 points, will not play on Saturday.
Cole will have a plank of just 7 rating points to beat in order to boost his tally. With a little over 2 rating points separating him from leader Carragher, it is unlikely Cole will let his chance slip.
With the same plank of 7.20 rating points to beat tomorrow, John Terry, another Chelsea defender, will have less of a chance to spring to the top of the rating since he currently has just 125 points over all. Terry scored the winner in England’s last game against Ukraine (2:1).
