Bosingwa Returns into Elite

Chelsea’s Portuguese defender Jose Bosingwa (pictured) returned into the elite group of the world’s top football players after an absence of two and an half months following Portugal’s 2:1 win over Albania in a World Cup 2010 qualifier yesterday.

Bosingwa exited the FTBL Top 23 of the world’s best players on April 23, and the 6.72 rating points he earned in the match against Albania helped him boost his overall rating to 117.84 points and grab the 6th place in the rating of defenders.

The Chelsea defender has been sitting at the top of the FTBL rating of Portuguese defenders for the past 4 months. He is now followed by FC Porto’s Bruno Alves (107.89 points), who scored the winner for Portugal, and Real Madrid’s Pepe (104.34 points).
