Cote D’Ivoire's 2:1 win away in Guinea on June 7 in a World Cup qualifier brought changes in the FTBL Top 23 of African forwards, with Olympique Marseille’s Ivorian striker Bakari Kone (pictured) forcing out fellow countryman Salomon Kalou of Chelsea.
Kone put his country in the lead right before halftime and his efforts earned him a deserved 16.05 rating points, boosting his total to 126.54 points against Kalou’s 121.20 points. Despite also taking part in the game, Kalou failed to score.
Sevilla midfielder Ndri Romaric grabbed the winner for Cote d’Ivoire and picked up 17.87 rating points to boost his total to 67.82 points, just 5 rating points shy of a spot in the Top 23 of African players.
