Borussia Dortmund’s young Serbia international Neven Subotic (pictured left) has been sitting at the top of the FTBL Top 23 of the world’s best U21 defenders with 81.64 points for five weeks running, despite the assaults of Manchester United and Real Madrid hordes of young talents.
Subotic’s main rivals are Man United center-back Jonny Evans and Real Madrid’s Brazilian Marcelo. Evans came into the fore after Sir Alex Ferguson turn to him to fill in for an injured first-team player towards the end of the season, while Marcelo was firmly installed at the top of the rating before Subotic toppled him.
Evans follows Subotic (57th in the overall ranking of defenders) in the rating with 77.34 points over all, while Marcelo has 39.26 points.
