Argentina midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron (pictured), who has been recalled in the national squad by Maradona after a long absence, could return in the Top 23 of the Argentinean league if he can earn a modest 6 + rating points when his side meet Ecuador today in a 2010 World Cup qualifier.

Veron has been processing steadily in the Argentinean league, earning on average 5 rating points per game. He will have a similar plank to beat in this evening’s game. He set the plank in the 1:1 draw between Estudiantes de la Plata and Atletico Huracan in league action.

A win for Argentina is certain to boost Veron’s rating fortunes, assuming he avoids any bookings. He will also want to play the entire game, as he did against Columbia.
