Italy’s 3:1 win over the U.S. in their Confederations Cup opener in South Africa has allowed Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini (pictured) to claim the top spot in the FTBL Top 23 of Serie A defenders with 105.95 points over all.

Chiellini, who produced a strong performance against a far-from-easy U.S. team, earned 15.90 rating points, while his partner in defense and teammate  Nicola Legrottaglie picked up 7.91 rating points to claim the 6th spot on the same chart.

Meanwhile, Juventus star goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon picked up 9.60 rating points in the same game to boost his tally to 94.23 points over all and grab the 3rd spot on the goalkeepers chart of the Serie A.
