Inter Milan’s Brazil international Julio Cesar earned approximately 9 rating points in Brazil’s 3:1 comfortable win over the U.S. in the Confed Cup in South Africa to see his tally increase to more 125.48 points and overtake Man United’s Edwin van der Sar and Chelsea’s Petr Cech to grab the 2nd spot in the FTBL Top 23 of the world’s top goalkeepers.
Despite conceding 3 goals against Egypt in Brazil’s opening game in the tournament, Cesar, nonetheless, retains a good chance of grabbing the top spot in the rating when his county meet Italy in the competition: he trails leader Jose Reina of Liverpool by approximately 10 rating points, and with a plank of just 7 rating points to beat against Italy, a victory for Brazil without conceding a goal will allow Cesar to surge to the top.
