Barcelona’s Cote D’Ivoire midfielder Yaya Toure (pictured left) has grabbed the top spot in the FTBL Top 23 of African midfielders from Chelsea’s Nigeria international John Obi Mikel after another round of World Cup 2010 qualifiers: Cote D’Ivoire extracted a 3:2 away win in Burkina Faso, while Nigeria could manage only a goalless draw in Tunisia.
While Toure picked up 11.19 rating points for his effort and boosted his tally to 135.65 points, Mikel lost 8.70 rating points and slumped to 2nd place with a tally of 116.96 points.
Sevilla’s Ndri Romaric, another Cote D’Ivoire international, also joined the Top 23 of African midfielders after playing the entire game. He picked up 12.90 rating points to boost his tally to 80.27 points and has now grabbed the 6th spot in the chart.
