David Villa, who for a long time has remained the leader rating-wise among Valencia players with 209.19 points, could soon leave the club in a reported 30- to 40-millio euro deal. If such a deal goes through, Valencia will be left with just Mata (101.08 points) as a forward with a rating worthy of the elite.
Despite his relatively young age, Mata has already been in our rating of top Spanish forwards and in the Top 23 of players under 21 years of age. Mata could return in those elite groups as early as in the first game of the coming season if he can beat his plank of 24.11 rating points. Every other player in Valencia has a rating below 100 points.
