Juventus defender and Italy international Giorgio Chiellini (pictured) completes the season as the best Italian defender with an overall FTBL rating of 91.25 points.
It is worth noting that Chiellini at one point in the season managed to clear the 100-point mark to a tally 115 points, a remarkable feat for a defender. That result is his career-best since we began tracking the player.
Two players could mount a challenge of Chiellini’s leadership in the ranking right at the beginning of the next season: Fiorentina’s Alessandro Gamberini, who has 89.92 points at the moment and ranks second, and Chiellini’s teammate Nicola Legrottaglie, who is in 3rd place with 89.08 points.
