The future of Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o (pictured), Africa’s best player according to FTBL, remains up in the air as talks between the striker and Barcelona about a contract extension reportedly remain inconclusive.
Eto’o ended last season with an overall rating of 179.6 points, second only to France international Thierry Henry among Barca forwards. He remains at the top of our ranking of African forwards, well ahead of his main rival, Chelsea’s Didier Drogba, who completed the season with 162.09 points.
Reports have surfaced of strong interest for Eto’o from Manchester City. If the Cameroonian decides to join City, he will come in as the best rated striker, even ahead of Brazilian powerhouse Robinho, who at the moment is slightly behind with 178.05 points over all.
