A move to Liverpool for Bayern Munich’s France international Franck Ribéry (pictured) would add power to the Reds’ midfield as the playmaker’s FTBL rating clearly indicates.
Throughout last season Liverpool’s power in the midfield rested on skipper Steven Gerrard (185.04 points), Xabi Alonso (143.01 points), Yossi Benayoun (133.03 points), Javier Mascherano (130.48 points), Lucas Leiva (103.42 points), Albert Riera (94.94 points), and the nominal forwards Dirk Kuyt (184.48 points) and Ryan Babel (63.18 points).
Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, and Kuyt are untouchables, with Kuyt often pushed upwards in attack. But Alonso could well leave for Real Madrid, while there is strong interest for Mascherano on the part of Spanish giants Barcelona.
Ribéry, who has an overall FTBL rating of 103.09 points, will have to compete with Benayoun, Babel, and Riera. To his credit, the Frenchman has a higher individual contribution to the rating of 30% and picks up 10.99 rating points on average per game. On the other hand, Benayoun has better +/- and star ratings of +40 and 6.4%.
