Brazil international Lúcio (pictured) should complete his transfer from Bayern Munich to Inter Milan soon. The Brazilian, who was the best defender in the Bundesliga with 140.27 points in the FTBL ranking, will be in the same position in our ranking of Italian Serie A defenders.
Lúcio trails only Chelsea’s John Terry (141.75 points) in the FTBL world ranking of defenders.
Germany international and Hamburg defender Joris Mathijsen, who was in second place behind Lúcio in the FTBL ranking of Bundesliga defenders, now has nobody between himself and the first spot, with 105.03 points.
Lúcio will be in direct competition in our Serie A ranking of defenders with teammate and fellow countryman Maicon, who has 136.34 points at the moment. But a move away from Inter for Maicon cannot be excluded, and in that case the number two pot in the ranking will be taken by Juventus defender and Italy international Giorgio Chiellini, who has a tally of 90.80 points at the moment.
