Former England international David Beckham, who is apparently determined to return in the England squad for the World Cup in 2010 in South Africa, appears to be angling towards leaving the MLS and its LA Galaxy outfit for good. Beckham is apparently now the target of English Premier League side Chelsea, where former AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti has just assumed the helm. If the midfielder finds himself at Stamford Bridge, he will have to fight hard for a place in the first team, given the incredible high-level competition among the Blues.
Beckham, who has an FTBL rating of just 65.06 points at the moment, will be at the bottom of the FTBL ranking of midfielders at Chelsea, behind even Russian international Yuri Zhyrkov (80.78 points), the new signing from CSKA Moscow.
While at Milan last season Beckham ranked 5th among midfielders behind Massimo Ambrosini (86.68 points), former Dutch international Clarence Seedorf (84.04 points), and Italy international Andrea Pirlo (72.25 points).
