The Spanish sports newspaper Marca has reported interest in Valencia midfielder and Spain international David Silva (pictured) on the part of Manchester United. FTBL.com takes a look at what such a move could have in store for the Spaniard.
Competition in Silva’s ostensible position (under forwards/winger/second forward) is quite intense at Old Trafford, even though some nuances might allow the Spaniard to grab a place in the first team.
In midfield, only Michael Carrick (120.73 points) and Darren Fletcher (101.84 points) have higher ratings than Silva (60.42 points). But Carrick and Fletcher are rather defensive midfielders, which theoretically would mean they will not be in direct competition with the Spaniard.
South Korea international Ji-Sung Park, despite having a higher rating at the moment (73.07 points), is unlikely to compete with the Spain international on talent: this is corroborated by the fact that, at top form Silva had an overall FTBL rating of 145 points, while the Korean has never managed more than 110 points.
The other potential rivals currently at United have substantially lower ratings: Veteran Ryan Giggs has just 58.31 points over all, Ecuador international Luis Valencia has 57.16 points, while Portuguese Nani has 54.37 points.
