The transfer of Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue (pictured left) to Italian Serie A side Fiorentina could be completed soon, according to the Italian media. If the Cote d’Ivoire international successfully completes the move, it is safe to assume he would face stiff competition in the FTBL ranking of defenders in the new club.

Eboue ranks 5th at Arsenal among defenders with 51.86 points at the moment, a whole 10 rating points behind countryman Kolo Touré (61.23 points), while the best defender is French international William Gallas with 102.96 points. It is worth noting that Gallas has been sidelined by injury since last April.

At Fiorentina competition is rather intense among defenders: the best ranked at the moment is Italy international Alessandro Gamberini with 86.26 points over all. Eboue will have to compete head on for a place in the first team with Dane Per Krøldrup, who has 59.64 points at the moment.
