Former Spain international Fernando Morientes (pictured), who has played for such powerhouses as Real Madrid, Valencia CF, and Liverpool, has signed for French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille.
Morientes had a catastrophic season at Valencia that resulted in an overall FTBL rating of just 21.62 points, far less than any forward in his new team. Just a few seasons ago, Morientes was routinely in the 110- to 120-point range.
The Spaniard will have to compete at Marseille with Brazilian powerful striker Brandao, who has an overall FTBL rating of 100.52 points at the moment. The Brazilian also has a better individual contribution to the rating of 22.5% against Morientes’ 9.7%. To top it all, the former Shakhtar Donetsk striker picks up on average 8.98 rating points per game, against Morientes’ 4.73 points.
