Chelsea new manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that he is happy with the Anelka-Drogba tandem, adding he will be looking to use the combination in the coming season. The two star players are currently among the highest rated in the English Premier League: Nicolas Anelka has an FTBL rating of 175.32 points, while Cote d’Ivoire international Didier Drogba has 157.287 points.
If Drogba picks up slightly more rating points per game than Anelka (13 against 11.78), the French international has a better star index (7.8% against 7%), which speaks of a higher contribution to Chelsea’s overall success.
The Anelka-Drogba tandem was also routinely used by Ancelotti’s predecessor Guus Hiddink. Only Brazilian coach Luis Felipe Scolari shied away from the combination, to the consternation and anger of fans at Stamford Bridge.
