A move for AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo to Chelsea is more imminent than ever, according to the Football Italia magazine. Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer the Italy international 105,000 pounds a week in pay and stump up a fee of 14 million pounds, despite the fact that, judging by his current FTBL rating of just 69.94 points, Pirlo is clearly unlikely to be among the top-rated midfielders at Stamford Bridge.
Only England midfielder Joe Cole (61.71 points) and Portuguese internationals Deco (58.94 points) and Ricardo Quaresma (38.87 points) have lower ratings than Pirlo at Chelsea at the moment. But all of them have been beset by injury or bad form throughout the season. Pirlo, on the other end, has one of the highest ratings of a midfield at Milan.
The move, if anything, appears more like an attempt to reunite Pirlo with his beloved coach Carlo Ancelotti, who joined Chelsea earlier this summer.
