Juventus’ Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen (pictured) is being considered by Liverpool as a potential replacement for departing Xabi Alonso, according to the British TV channel Sky.
The difference in class between the two players seems enormous at first glance: Alonso has an overall FTBL rating of 143.01 points at the moment, the highest ever since we began tracking the Spain international, while Poulsen is far behind with a tally of just 61.27 points.
But it is worth nothing that Poulsen has tallied at 125 points in our system at the peak of form, which seems to suggest that the two players are not as far apart quality-wise as might appear. The Denmark international even has a slightly better contribution to the rating (8.7%) than Alonso (7.1%).
