Defenders Sergio Ramos and Marcelo will not travel with Real Madrid in their pre-season tour of the U.S. and Canada, according to the club’s web site.

The news must be a bad omen for Brazilian Marcelo, who at the moment is the worst ranked defender at the club, with an FTBL tally of just 34.26 points. His star index, which reflects his contribution to the team’s overall success, is a paltry 2%.

Spain international Ramos has a much better overall FTBL rating of 93.27 points, as well as a better star index of 4.6%. The decision to leave Ramos behind must therefore have little to do with his current form.
