Chelsea skipper and England international John Terry, the best defender in the FTBL world ranking at the moment, has been rewarded for his loyalty to the Blues with a new contract including a salary boost to 151,000 pounds a week.
Terry is perched at the top of our world ranking of defenders with 141.75 points overall, ahead of Inter Milan’s Brazilians Lucio (139.17 points) and Maicon (136.34 points) and compatriot Ashley Cole (134.51 points).
Terry’s form peaked in early May, when he picked up a whopping 50 rating points in 3 matches on the trot. He was helped in his way up by the slump in form of the then rating leader, Villarreal’s Capdevila (120.87 points).
