Chelsea’s France international Nicolas Anelka (pictured) captured the 3rd spot in the FTBL ranking of English Premier League strikers after helping France overcome the Faeroe Islands (1:0) in a World Cup 2010 qualifier Wednesday.

Anelka played the entire game, and the positive result for France boosted his personal FTBL rating by 7 points.

Anelka now has an overall rating of 181.66 points, which puts him in 8th position in the FTBL world ranking of forwards, behind Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney (183.35 points) and Liverpool’s Dutch international Dirk Kuyt (182.40 points). Anelka has overtaken Barcelona’s Thierry Henry (176.68 points) as the best French forward in the FTBL ranking.
