With a hat-trick in Wolfsburg’s 5:0 drubbing of Hannover 96 in Bundesliga action last weekend, Bosnian international Edin Dzeko, the world’s best striker at the moment in the FTBL ranking, set himself a daunting plank of 50 rating points to beat when his side travel to Munich to play Bayern tomorrow.
The contest for the top spot in the FTBL’s most prestigious ranking is now wide open, with most of today’s candidates facing more than daunting planks to beat in order to avoid a drop.
Dzeko will face another daunting plank of 36.60 rating points after the game against Bayern, when Bosnia takes on Armenia on September 5 in a World Cup 2010 qualifier. The Bosnian, who currently has an overall FTBL rating of 217.76 points, could lose his throne after just a few days at the top.
