Barcelona’s Malian midfielder Seydou Keita (pictured) has earned a pass back among the top 23 African players in the FTBL ranking after three months of absence.

The Malian international achieved impressive gains in his FTBL rating through strong showings in Barcelona’s wins in their first two games of the new season: the 1:0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Supercup earned Keita 15.45 rating points, while the 3:0 convincing win over Sporting Gijón in La Liga opener added a whopping 23 rating points. Keita scored one of the goals.

Keita now has an overall FTBL rating of 85.38 points and ranks 77th in the FTBL World Ranking of midfielders. However, he is the best Malian midfielder at the moment and 8th in the African Top 23.
