Valencia striker David Villa and his Liverpool colleague Fernando Torres yesterday paired in the Spain squad to inflict misery on Belgium in their World Cup 2010 qualifier (5:0) and improve their fortunes in the FTBL World Ranking of strikers.
Villa (pictured) scored twice to beat his plank of 24 rating points in the game. Villa’s overall FTBL rating increased by 14 rating points, and he is now in 2nd place in the FTBL World Ranking of strikers with a tally of 186.67 points.
Liverpool’s Torres, despite not scoring, earned a respectable 10 rating points in our system to take his overall FTBL rating to 168.39 points. He is now in 6th position in the FTBL World Ranking of strikers.
