Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney will have a perfect opportunity to return the top spot in the FTBL world ranking of forwards he lost to Valencia’s David Villa this weekend when the Red Devils travel to Turkey to meet Besiktas J.K. in the Champions League group stage tomorrow.
Rooney, who currently has an overall FTBL rating of 209.48 points, is already assured of the 0.5 rating points he dropped in United’s 0:1 loss to Burnley last week in the English Premier League. Therefore, a simple victory for United has the potential of sending him once again to the top of our ranking. If he scores, then his chances increase even further.
In the meantime, Villa, who now sits a the top with an overall FTBL rating of 220.96 points, will have a plank of less than 12 rating points to beat when Valencia take on French side Lille in the Europa League on Thursday.
