AC Milan’s Italy international Gianluca Zambrotta (pictured right) used the Rosonerri’s 2:1 away win in the Champions League group stage game against French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille to move up the FTBL ranking of Serie A defenders and claim the 4th spot.
Zambrotta, who played the entire game, earned 12.47 rating points in the FTBL system and has now boosted his overall FTBL rating to 100.53 points.
The rating puts the former Barcelona left-back in 20th position in the FTBL World Ranking of defenders. Zambrotta is also now the second-best Italian defender on our chart, having pushed down Juventus’s Fabio Cannavaro (97.6 points).
