As Real Madrid came out in force to rout FC Zürich 5:2 in their first group stage game in the Champions League last Tuesday, young Argentine up and coming star Gonzalo Higuain (pictured) held his ground among the star-studded midfield of the Merengues.
Despite playing just 68 minutes, Higuain’s performance was so convincing (he scored one of the goals) that he now trails only Brazilian megastar Kaká (126.11 points) and Spain international Xabi Alonso (158.12 points) in the FTBL ranking of midfielders at the Barnabeu.
The 22-year-old Argentina international is now 38th in the FTBL World Ranking of midfielders with an overall FTBL rating of 100.8 points. He is in 3rd place in our ranking of Argentine midfielders, where competition is fierce.
