La Liga: Real, Ronaldo Make Short Work of Opposition in Way Up

Real Madrid have won all of their last three games, scoring 13 goals against 2 conceded, with superstar forward Cristiano Ronaldo (pictured) in the thick of all that action.

The Portuguese international took another step closer to the top of the FTBL World Ranking of forwards when he netted a brace as the Merengues made short work of newly promoted Xerez CD 5:0 yesterday in La Liga. He earned 11.85 rating points in our system to boost his overall FTBL rating to 217.04 points.

Ronaldo is now second only to Valencia’s prolific striker David Villa (221.06 points) in the world ranking. Villa will face a plank of 34.25 rating points in his next appearance just to avoid a slump in his rating, while Ronaldo will need to clear a plank of just 8 rating points. The fight for the top spot promises to be exciting!
