Samuel Eto’o’s (pictured) hold on the top spot in the FTBL ranking of African forwards became increasingly shakier as the Cameroon international failed to impress despite Inter Milan’s 2:1 win at Cagliari, dropping 3.60 rating points, while his nearest rival Didier Drogba earned more than 12 points with a goal to boot as Chelsea routed Tottenham Hotspur 3:0.

The Cote d’Ivoire star now has an overall FTBL rating of 184.89 points, nipping at Eto’o, who has a tally of 186.92 points at the moment.

The fight for the leadership could heat up even further, with Drogba facing a plank of 23.7 rating points to beat in his next game, against Eto’o’s 17.55 points. Chelsea will be taking on Wigan Athletic. If Drogba scores again, he could well push the Cameroonian star aside.
